The velvety fur for the animals is still handwoven in Germany, from pure GOTS certified organic cotton. “Finding the right manufacturer was difficult,” recalls Volker Senger. “There are practically no handweaving mills left in Germany that produce their own plush fabrics.”
Carefully selected materials are used not only on the outside but also inside our stuffed animals. Many of our animals are for example filled with soft, virgin sheep’s wool, which we source from itinerant shepherds in the Eifel region. There, the sheep graze across meadows and dikes, providing us with the wool that makes our stuffed friends so wonderfully soft.
Cuddly animals and cushions additionally contain little treasures from nature: rustling spelt husks or cherry pits tucked into removable pillows. These can be gently warmed and provide cozy warmth during little cuddle breaks. So every animal has its very own special features, and there’s a story behind every material.
In fact, we haven’t changed any of our suppliers in recent years. It truly makes us happy to be able to source such outstanding and long-lasting quality locally and from Germany.
